The awareness group's main objectives are to:

  1. Make employers aware of adaptive technology, (what can it do - how to
    get it)
  2. Make potential vision-impaired employees aware of technical options
and entitlements to financial support or training.
  3. Provide an info source on adaptive technology, providers, training
    options and support organisations
  4. Provide an opportunity for vision impaired employees to exchange
experiences and give each other advice.
  5. Research where in the country and in which vocational areas support is
    lacking

Enable Employment, reap the rewards By pursuing these objectives we hope to achieve a wider recognition of the potential vision impaired people have to offer.

We hope to spread an attitude, whereby vision impaired people are not rejected for their disability, but hired for their ability.

We also want to reach potential vision impaired employees, many of whom are unaware of their options, or lack the confidence to appear at a job interview.
