Membership
Membership of VICS is open to all, whether you're sighted or vision-impaired. We have two membership packages: ordinary membership and associate membership.
Associate membership is open to fully sighted individuals who would like to explore how vision impaired people access technology, either out of personal interest, or for work-related purposes.
Ordinary membership is available to everyone with a visual impairment, irrespective of the level of sight loss.
Membership of VICS will bring you a number of benefits.
- You can take action on issues affecting visually impaired computer users in Ireland and abroad;
- You will have the opportunity to deepen your own knowledge of computers and assistive technology;
- Our dedicated training is delivered by visually impaired trainers who understand the issues you face;
- Our Information and Technology Days are a valuable resource. You can hear about the latest technological developments and sample the latest assistive technology products;
- Our friendly community of members help each other with technical questions and commonly encountered problems;
- You will have access to the membership section on our website, where you can avail of training resources;
- You will gain a greater understanding of the issues visually impaired people face when interacting with technology;
Current annual membership subscription rates are set at:
- Ordinary membership €10
- Associate membership €10
- Non-waged and students €5
Memberships are available on an annual basis, mirroring the calendar year. The renewal date falls on January 1st each year.
Subscriptions can be paid directly in cash, by bank transfer, cheque, postal order or online.
