The Visually-Impaired Computer Society
VICS, the Visually Impaired Computer Society was founded in 1986 by a number of blind and visually impaired computer programmers in the Dublin area. It's membership has now grown to around one hundred members nation wide.
VICS is governed by a committee elected at the Annual General Meeting. It is a specialist Interest Subgroup of the Irish Computer Society (ICS).
There are several "Working Groups", which are made up of VICS members. These working groups are put in place to carry out tasks regarding Web Testing and Standards, Lobbying, Research etc. These groups are generally flexible in terms of personnel, life span, and the work they do.
